Kiwanis Tearoom Project

Oak Bay Firefighters Charitable Executive Director Greg Swan accepts an appreciation certificate from Kiwanis on behalf of the work Oak Bay Firefighters carried out in the Kiwanis Tearoom renovation.

The Kiwanis Tearoom project was taken on as a way to volunteer our time while giving back to our community. The windows at the Kiwanis tearoom (Willows Beach) were found to leaking when the heavy rains hit. Oak Bay Firefighters gave their time to help repair this problem by putting in new insulation after the walls were exposed, adding vapour barrier and finally plywood to the three sides of the interior of the Tearoom. The firefighters helped Kiwanis keep the cost down with a total of 24 combined hours of labour.
